The UX Challenge
Artium academy is premium online music education platform, dedicated to teaching music in a fun yet result oriented way.
Learning music can be intimidating and overwhelming. Around 90% of beginner musicians drop out within the first year according to studies.
Why is learning music so difficult? It can be a long and challenging process, it’s hard to understand if you are making progress and it’s difficult to stay motivated.
The Design Process
We used a user-centred design approach to tackle these 3 problem, and revolutionised the way people learn music.
We leveraged the ‘progress principle’
Use Gamification . Even small, incremental progress can have a powerful impact on motivation, satisfaction, and well-being
We designed around ‘cognitive limitations’
We provided an experience follow spaced learning to counter the forgetting curve. Learn. Practice. Perform. Repeat.
We used the ‘network effect’
As more users join the platform, there are more opportunities, for collaboration, feedback, and social interaction.
We built-in the perfect ‘music learning tool-kit’
The power of a studio in your pocket. Metronomes, tuners, backing tracks, sheet music, chord charts, videos and a lot more, all in one place.

Interactive Dashboard
That facilitates progress monitoring, score tracking, event updates, & seamless platform navigation.

Monitor your advancement through a gamified journey, as even minor improvements can significantly boost your motivation, contentment, & overall sense of wellness.
